Each ProMetric series CCD imaging photometer and colorimeter comes with a powerful, Windows-based software suite created by Radiant Imaging. ProMetric software provides extensive instrument control, data acquisition and image analysis capabilities. The software provides a simple, user-friendly interface to fully automated, pre-programmed capabilities. This enables production line personnel and other operatives to perform sophisticated measurements and tests. However, built-in support for .Net and ActiveX controls allow the experienced user to develop customized applications, and to perform automated testing using software such as VB.Net, VC#.Net, LabView, Matlab, VBA, and C++.

Radiant Imaging has developed a number of bolt-on application-specific software modules that allow you to more easily exploit the power of the imaging photometer. Of special note is the advanced TrueMURA software module which precisely correlates display defect detection with human visual perception. ProMetric Software Capabilities

ProMetric CCD camera systems can record between 250,000 and 16 million measurement spots (CCD sensor dependent) in seconds. Captured images comprise a 2D bitmap scaled for absolute luminance (or illuminance, luminous intensity) and colour. The software simplifies and automates routine tasks such as setting exposure times, performing calibrations and reporting the luminance, illuminance, luminous intensity, chromaticity, colour temperature or dominant wavelength of user-defined points-of-interest. Its powerful, built-in analysis tools include luminance and colour analysis, defect detection, simplified pass/fail reporting and multiple graphing and report capabilities. The main capabilities of the ProMetric software include:

'Brightness' analysis (illuminance, luminous intensity, luminance, luminous flux)

ProMetric 9 - a Complete Rewrite in the Microsoft .NET Environment

ProMetric 9 is a complete rewrite in theMicrosoft .Net environment of Radiant Imaging’s renowned PM software. Designed to provide users the ultimate in convenience, utility and quality, ProMetric 9 provides improved measurement accuracy, more analysis capability and many user-friendly features designed to make your job easier. ProMetric functions can be programmatically controlled through the PMEngine .Net controls (Framework 2.0). With the .Net controls, users can build their own custom test and analysis sequence in Visual Studio 2005 or other .Net compatible programming languages. For ActiveX programmers, there is also a limited set of ActiveX controls. Radiant Imaging is happy to assist in the development of customised software for your specific application and measurement requirements.

ProMetric 9 software includes the following new features:

Measurement Setup - simplified, more intuitive setup protocol.
Application Calibration Changes - improved scaling and clipping settings, addition of Frames-to-Average and Force New Dark Image functions, binning now in Camera Settings, addition of Filter Thresholding % and repositioning of Multi-Point Luminance Scaling, Stray Light Calibration and Filters to be captured.
Help Function - now integrated throughout ProMetric 9.
Bitmap Tool - simplified toolbar with more options. Zoom-in by dragging a box on the bitmap or by clicking on the magnifying glass icon. Ability to select display type with Measurement Selection box.
Cross-Section Tool - interactive controls and additional options.
Histogram Tool - this is a new tool separated from the Cross-Section tool.
2-D Iso-Plot - resolution settable on main screen with zoom capability.
3-D Iso-Plot - resolution settable on main screen with rotation, scaling and zoom options.
CIE Colour Chart - ability to zoom-in to the chart. Customisable colour gamuts.
Focus Mode - replaces the Active Bitmap and Active Cross-Section tools and allows users to switch bitmap and cross section from several locations.
Measurement Operations - when performing a 2-measurement operation, such as addition, allows you to see original and second measurement and the resultant new measurement. New operations include Offset and Make Intensity Measurement (illuminance measurements).
Language Support - main screens in ProMetric 9 have translations for two principal Chinese languages and Japanese, with capabilities for other languages. Application will automatically open in native language, but can be overridden in Tools, Setup Options.

The following are further enhancements published in ProMetric version 9.1:

Automated defect analysis tools to identify mura, bright and dark pixels, and line defects.
Report CIELAB chromaticity (L*a*b* colour space).
Faster colour measurements.
Dominant wavelength reported in the measurement bitmap.
Tabbed windows that enhance the user interface.
Support for a fourth (CIE X_B) filter to improve the colorimetric measurement accuracy of LCD displays and LEDs.
Compatibility with the optional TrueMURA software module.
