Labsphere's OGL series lamps and OGS lamp sets are optical grade equivalents to the SCL spectral flux standard lamps. OGL lamps save the expense of a calibration, but are still screened and seasoned to provide a stable, dependable output. Optical grade lamps can be user-calibrated in an integrating sphere system to serve as references used in the calibration of integrating sphere photometers and spectroradiometers.

The OGL lamps are available in three power levels, as a 50 lumen lamp for use with 6-inch spheres, as a 400 lamp for use with 10, 12 and 20-inch spheres and as a 1,400 lumen lamp for use with spheres having a diameter of 40-inches or larger. Each OGL lamp has been carefully screened and seasoned in accordance with the guidelines recommended by the IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America). All of Labsphere’s optical grade and standard lamps are first seasoned for 1% of their rated life and then screened for stability and repeatable performance.

Labsphere’s optical grade lamps may be purchased individually or in sets of three which follows the recommendations of national laboratories and industry standards for lamp photometry. The use of three lamps prolongs the useful life of each lamp, since they may be used interchangeably. A multiple lamp set allows the user to check one lamp against another. This process of intercomparison helps to correct for the effects of lamp depreciation and ensures accurate readings over time. The cost of a set of three lamps is also significantly less that the cost of purchasing three lamps individually.

You will need to order a power supply for your chosen OGL lamp separately. The Labsphere LPS series are precision, current regulated lamp power supplies that provide the required current to drive the particular standard lamp. For ordering information, see below.
