Pro-Lite supplies acousto optic modulators, acousto optic deflectors and acousto optic Q-switches from Isomet. Popularly known as Bragg cells, these acousto-optic devices are used as laser beam modulators, Q-switches and beam deflectors. Associated RF drivers are also available. Isomet also produces an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) - a solid-state optical filter that is electronically tunable. Pro-Lite also supplies electro-optic Pockels Cells from Inrad that are used for Q-switching of laser cavities, coupling light into - or out of - an ultrafast regenerative amplifier, and for light intensity modulation.

An acousto-optic deflector can be used for scanning a laser beam in one or two axes. We offer single and dual-axis deflectors from Isomet for laser beam scanning in the 330nm to 12µm range. The available Isomet RF drivers allow full control of the laser spot position without any moving parts.
An acousto-optic modulator is typically used for modulating the amplitude of a laser beam at up to 100MHz. We offer a range of modulator crystals and coatings from Isomet for the 250nm to 11µm range. Isomet also offer RF drivers, modulators combined with integrated RF drivers as well as multi-channel modulators for 4, 6 or 8 beams.
An acousto-optic Q-switch is typically used intracavity in cw-pumped diode or lamp pumped solid state lasers to produce a pulsed output at frequencies between 0.5 and >50KHz. We offer a range of standard Q-Switches from Isomet, but also develop custom Q-Switches and companion RF drivers.
Acousto-optic tunable filters (AOTFs) from Isomet offer continuous tunability, fast access time and narrow spectral bandwidths making them ideal for spectroscopy and remote sensing applications. Precise wavelength selection is achieved by applying the appropriate RF drive frequency.
Electro-optic Pockels cells provide fast switching of the polarisation direction of a beam of light. Applications include Q-switching of a laser cavity, coupling light into - or out of - an ultrafast regenerative amplifier, and for light intensity modulation (when combined with a pair of polarisers). Inrad offers Pockels cells based upon crystals of KD*P, LiNbO3 and BBO, plus associated drivers, gimbal mounts and cells.
