USB2000+IRRAD Irradiance Spectroradiometer

USB2000+ IRRAD Spectroradiometer

The USB2000+IRRAD is Pro-Lite's modular spectroradiometer system based upon the Ocean Optics USB2000+ spectrometer. This system has the flexibility to measure spectral radiant flux, intensity & irradiance as well as derived photometric (illuminance, luminous intensity) & colorimetric (chromaticity, colour temperature & colour rendering) properties. Using interchangeable collection optics & integrating spheres, you can configure - and reconfigure - your light measurement system for measuring solar irradiance as well as the output of lamps, LEDs, optical fibres, lasers - in fact almost any type of light source.

The USB2000+ CCD spectrometer provides for high speed spectral measurements in the wavelength range from 350-1000nm and is specially configured for photometric and colorimetric measurements of light sources. The diffraction grating and entrance slit of the spectrometer provide a spectral resolution of < 1.5nm (FWHM), while an order sorting filter ensures accurate measurements with broadband sources and a detector lens boosts the low light level sensitivity of the system.

A 2m long, large core optical fibre with protective metal jacket provides the input to the spectrometer. You simply attach your chosen collection optics onto the input of the optical fibre, perform an in-situ calibration with the supplied calibration lamp and away you go.

Measurements are controlled and recorded by SpectraSuite application software. SpectraSuite is a modular, Java-based spectroscopy software platform that operates on Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. It provides for absolute spectral irradiance processing and computation of the derived radiometric, photometric and colorimetric parameters. There is even the possibility with the OmniDriver software option of writing your own code to control the USB2000+IRRAD spectroradiometer from within your own process control software.

Configure & Reconfigure Your System for Irradiance, Intensity & Flux

The USB2000+IRRAD spectroradiometer can be user configured and reconfigured for measuring spectral irradiance (W/m2.nm), spectral radiance intensity (W/sr.nm) and spectral radiant flux (W/nm) in the 350-1000nm spectral region. To convert from one measurement geometry to another, just select the appropriate collection optics. For irradiance and intensity, you attach a cosine receiver (often called a diffuser) to the input of the optical fibre, while for total flux you simply unscrew the cosine receiver and attach the fibre to one of our integrating spheres. The diffuser option provides a cosine corrected collection of light over a complete hemisphere for accurate irradiance measurements, while an integrating sphere captures the total light emitted from a lamp or LED.

Used for spectral irradiance, spectral radiant intensity, illuminance & luminous intensity measurements.   Used to measure forward (2pi steradian) spectral radiant flux & luminous flux of single LED emitters.   Used to measure forward (2pi), total (4pi) spectral flux & luminous flux of single & small clusters of LEDs & small lamps.

The CC3 cosine diffuser attaches to the input of the optical fibre and provides for cosine-corrected collection of light over a complete hemisphere.   The FOIS-1 is a 38mm diameter Spectralon integrating sphere that collects the forward flux emitted by a single LED placed at its 9.5mm diameter input port.   The LMS-100 is a 25cm diameter interior access Spectraflect coated integrating sphere that collects the total flux emitted by sources placed in the centre of the sphere. A 5cm port on the sphere wall can be used to collect forward flux.

Calibrated using the LS-1-CAL irradiance light source placed at the input to the cosine receiver.   Calibrated using the LS-1-CAL-INT irradiance light source placed at the input to the sphere.   Calibrated using the SCL-600 standard lamp of spectral flux placed centrally in the sphere.

Notes: intensity measurements must be performed in the photometric far-field.   Notes: the FOIS-1 sphere cannot collect light over 4pi steradians.   Notes: the LMS-100 can accept centrally mounted light sources up to a maximum of 16cm (1D linear) or 3cm (3D). An auxiliary lamp is available to correct for sample absorption. For larger samples, please contact Pro-Lite for details on our larger spheres.
